What to Expect

Sahara Desert Atlas – 5 Days. Disocver the region of Tafilalet and the Dunes of Merzouga, the Khemlia Sahara Desert, the Merzouga’s Erg Chebbi Dunes. Visit Morocco’s Ziz Valley region and the moyen Atlas. This tour is ideal for Adventure the spiritual city of Fes.

Itinerary

Day 1Errachidia airport – Erfoud

Arrival in Errachidia airport at evening, after we will drive to your accommodation at the Kasbah in Erfoud. Dinner will be served in the Kasbah.

Day 2Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Desert

After a breakfast, you will explore the small towns of Erfoud and Rissani where you will stop for lunch. In the afternoon, you will drive with 4×4 vehicles through the barren land to the majestic sand dunes of the Merzouga Sahara. We will have tea after we start the desert field, where our dromedaries await us, we cross the dunes to the heart of the desert to watch a beautiful sunset. Hidden behind the Great Dunes, and enjoying the music of nomads, local dinner and tea, you can see the vast sky of the stars and sleep in the Berber nomad tent. (You can choose the hotel in merzouga for sleeping is an option if you prefer hotel to tent).

Day 3Merzouga – Errachidia – Midelt – Fes

After breakfast, we leave in the direction to Fes in the way to Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to Midelt. Stop in Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and refresh yourself with a glass of mint tea then continue our journey to Azrou, a Berber village in the middle Atlas Mountains, before we stop to see the monkies in the famous cedar forest . In Ifran “the Swiss village”, stop for photos or a drink and we continue our way to your accommodation in Fes. Dinner will be served in a riad or local hotel.

Day 4Fes (City Tour)

After breakfast you will start the city-tour with our local guide in order to discover the medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch you will eat in traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be served in a local riad or hotel.

Day 5Fes Last Day

We will transfer to the airport.
